Annabelle's Serpentine Dance

Now that I am immersed in my film class, a lot of my posts will be of films and clips I have been watching... I just watched another beautiful little piece called The Serpentine Dance which was one of the first movies ever made after the discovery of series photography. The film was shot in 1894 by the Lumière brothers. I thought this clip was very fitting for a blog about lovely things, and I thought you all would enjoy it.

Whirlwind

My goodness, I have been so caught up in the start of classes- I've had no time to breathe! I just want to get these first couple of weeks out of the way so that I can be in my routine and have some chill time again. I miss summer already... although I do love fall fashion! In February, I posted about Clara Bow, and I had my first film class today, and I found out that next week we will be screening the 1927 film It! I am glad I have something to get me through the rest of the week. I will try and post more often, but this new routine is tough!

Take a look at the first science fiction silent film ever made... Le Voyage dans le Lune (A Trip to the Moon) was made by Georges Melies in 1902, and is a delightful and imaginative film. I love the scene where the women are in the stars- how magical!

Woodstock Babies

I'm on one of my baby kicks, and I love the 60's style clothes (and to-die-for boots) at babyGap!

Indulge

I am feeling awfully depressed about the summer ending, so I've decided to make this coming weekend a time for me to indulge in some of my guilty pleasures. The weekend will consist of chick flicks galore, thin mint blizzards from dairy queen, a Sex and the City marathon, and Juicy Couture velour pants! It seems trivial, but taking time to treat yourself to a few guilty pleasures is really comforting. What kinds of guilty pleasures do you indulge in?

Chic and Comfy

I really love Sienna Miller's style, and I love this whole ensemble shes got going- its very retro and chic, but its also really relaxed and laid back. I'm always looking for ways to be comfy and relaxed while still looking stylish!

Cotillard

I just came across these stylish photos of Marion Cotillard (who, by the way, was lovelier than even in Public Enemies!) Miss Cotillard is so classy and elegant...very inspiring.

Rock Goddess

Diane von Furstenburg's Spring 2009 Collection is just darling- a whimsical collection of bright and flirtatious colors (not to mention the adorable headbands I've been longing for!) Diane described her collection perfectly: "Its all about freedom. Freedom of movement, freedom of mixing fabrics, freedom of color. Freedom of being whoever you want to be- a flower girl, or a rock star."

Headbands

I'm really loving headbands right now, and I'm looking forward to wearing them more often!
